Your hips hold the pull, not your shoulder
Gentle lead, harness, retractable: they all changed his end of the leash. The AnchorWalk Leash changes yours.
- Buckles at your hips, so your whole body holds the pull
- Two bungee shock absorbers turn a lunge into a stretch
- Traffic handle by the clip for crossings and passing dogs
- Zip pouch for phone, keys and poop bags, so your coffee hand stays free
Walk with it for up to 90 days. Not right for you two? Send it back for a refund.
A regular leash: every lunge goes through one arm.
Why nothing has worked
Every fix you tried changed the wrong end
The gentle lead. The front clip harness. The retractable. Each one changed something on his end of the leash.
Your end stayed the same: one hand, at the end of one arm, well above your center of gravity.
So when 70 pounds of dog spots a squirrel, all of it goes through one shoulder and tips you forward. That is why you come home rubbing your arm, and why, if he bolts, you are going with him.
And it grows with him. The 35 lb puppy you could handle is the same pull at 70, on the same arm.
Move your end of the leash, and the pull has somewhere better to go.
Big dogs, everyday walks
Wherever she goes, the dog comes too
Coffee, phone, hands in her pockets, and a dog who pulls. Tap to hear it from her.
He hit 74 pounds at ten months and I was coming home rubbing my shoulder after every walk. Now the pull sits on my hips and I can actually look around.
Golden retriever, 10 months
I tried a gentle lead and a front clip harness first. This is the first thing that changed how the walk feels for me, not just for him.
Shepherd mix, 88 lb
I was scared he would pull me over if I went hands free. I keep a hand on the traffic handle at crossings and the bungee takes the rest.
Husky mix, 2 years
Coffee in one hand, phone in the other, poop bags zipped at my hip. Three walks a day finally feel doable.

Why this one works where others didn't
Each detail answers something owners complain about with the leash they bought before.
The anchor sits at your hips

A 90 lb dog, and why she does not go flying.
How it works
Three steps. No training degree needed.
- 1Buckle it at your hips. The belt adjusts from 71 to 127 cm and the zip pouch rides along with it.
- 2Clip him on.The bungee, with its two shock absorbers, sits between your belt and his collar or harness.
- 3Walk.When he lunges, the bungee stretches first and your hips take what is left. Need him close? Grab the traffic handle.
It won't train the pull out of him. That part is still yours. It changes where the pull lands while you work on it.
Coffee in one hand. Nothing in the other.
Belt on, clip on, out the door in seconds. Your drink, your phone and the poop bags each have a place, and none of them is fighting the leash for your hand.
When you walk him three times a day, that is the difference between a chore and the best part of the day.
A lunge becomes a stretch, not a yank
The squirrel, the cat, the dog across the street. The two shock absorbers stretch first, so you feel a firm pull at your hips instead of a jolt through your shoulder.
Your big dog gets a little give. You keep your footing.
Bring him close in one second
Hands free does not mean hands off. The padded handle at your hip guides him on an open path. The traffic handle by the clip keeps him right at your knee for crossings, kids on bikes and the neighbor's dog.
You choose how much control you need, block by block.
Everything you carry, zipped at your hip
A 17 x 8.5 cm zip pouch takes your phone, keys and cards. A small hole lets you pull poop bags straight out without unzipping.
No more poop bags stuffed up your sleeve or a phone balanced on your coffee lid.
Same dog, same street, the belt on instead.
What changes
From tug of war to an actual walk

- Metal clip and D-ring, reflective stitching throughout
Questions big-dog owners ask
I already bought a hands-free leash and it did nothing. Why is this different?
Most of the frustration comes from one of three things: a pull that still yanks because there is no real give in the line, no quick way to bring the dog close, or a belt that never fit. This one has two shock absorbers in the bungee, two padded handles including a traffic handle by the clip, and a belt that adjusts from 71 to 127 cm.
And if it still is not right for you and your dog, you have 90 days to send it back for a refund.
Will it stop him pulling?
Honestly, no leash trains the pull out of a dog by itself. That is still training, and still yours. What this changes is where the pull lands: on your hips and through a bungee, instead of straight into one shoulder. That makes the walks easier on you while you work on the rest.
What if he bolts? Am I going down with him?
That is why there are two handles. When you see the squirrel before he does, grab the traffic handle by the clip and he is right at your knee. When you don't, the two shock absorbers stretch first, so the pull reaches your hips, your strongest point, as a firm tug instead of a yank. The belt also has a side-release buckle.
Watch the video in the How it works section: a 90 lb dog, explained by his owner.
Won't it just move the strain to my back?
The belt sits around your waist or hips, close to your center of gravity, so your whole body shares the pull instead of one arm levering it. The bungee takes the sharp part of a lunge before it reaches you. If you have a specific back condition, check with your doctor first.
Is it strong enough for a 90 lb dog?
It is made for medium and large dogs, with a metal clip and D-ring. The owners in our videos walk 90 lb dogs with it. If anything about it disappoints you within 90 days, you get your money back.
Will the belt fit me, and can I shorten the leash?
The belt adjusts from 71 to 127 cm, so it fits most waists and hips, even over a winter coat. The leash runs 120 to 183 cm with the bungee stretched. Want him closer? Hold the hip handle, or loop the first section to the belt.
Will my phone actually fit in the pouch?
The zip pouch is 17 x 8.5 cm. That fits a standard phone, keys and cards. Check your phone's size if it is an extra-large model. Poop bags pull out through the small hole without unzipping.
My dog is reactive. Is hands free a bad idea?
Many owners of reactive dogs like having the leash attached at the hip as a backup, and use the traffic handle the moment they spot a trigger. Every dog is different, so follow your trainer's plan and start somewhere quiet. Watch the 90 lb dog video above to see how one owner uses all three points of contact.
I've seen cheaper ones. Why this one?
For $29.99 you get the belt, a removable pouch that fits a phone, a bungee with two shock absorbers, two padded handles, reflective stitching, and 90 days to decide. You will use it every day, two to four times a day, so it should be the one that does the job.
How fast will it arrive, and what about returns?
Orders are processed in 1 to 2 days, then delivery takes 5 to 10 days. You have 90 days from delivery to request a refund if it is not right for you and your dog.
